JavaScript adds functionality to websites

HTML code has fairly limited functionality as it merely provides information to a domain server which then parses the data and renders the page that is seen by the visitor. XHTML extends the range of available features but JavaScript can be used to add ever more functionality.

We use it frequently to enhance the visitor's browsing experience and improve the site's usability. On this page, for example, JavaScript is used to control:

• the drop-down menus in the horizontal navigation bar
• the floating 'Top' button in the left-hand column that returns you to the top of longer pages.

If our customers require special features, we can write the necessary code or use existing script routines.
